Police and Folly Wildlife rescue catapult education visit |
||
|
Good morning,
Just prior to Christmas officers from the Tunbridge Wells Child Centred Policing Team took 2 youths identified as having used catapults against wildlife to visit the Folly Wildlife Rescue Centre for an educational visit. During the visit they learnt about the damage and injuries caused to wildlife and got to see first had some of the patients at the centre recovering from injuries caused at the hands of catapults.
The visit follows several weeks of collaboration between staff and officers in an attempt to highlight and educate, hopefully leading to young people not seeing wildlife as nothing more than targets.
The visit was very productive and is something that we will continue to attend in the future where we have identified young people that may benefit.
Catapults continue to be an issue in the area and we working hard to identify those involved. Please continue to provide us with information, photos and footage of anyone using catapults. | ||
